Unflavoured whey — sold as "raw" or "natural" — has no sweetener, cocoa or flavouring, so more of every scoop is protein. It mixes into oats, curd, dal or coffee without changing the taste, and it is the easiest way to see exactly what you are paying for.
We ranked ten unflavoured wheys sold in India on cost per 100g of protein, then on protein purity per scoop.
Prices and nutrition figures were taken from our catalogue on 29 September 2026. Nutrition comes from each product's label as listed by the seller. We are a data platform, not a laboratory, and did not test these products ourselves — here is how we handle product data. Prices move daily, so check the live price on each product page.

On our purity tier scale, Fuel One Iso-Max is the only A+ (88% and above). MyFitFuel Hydrolyzed, Nakpro Whey Gold, Myprotein Impact and the three isolates are A (75–87%). The rest are B (60–74%) — normal for a concentrate.
Does unflavoured really mean more protein? On average, yes, but by less than you might think. Across the 84 unflavoured wheys in our catalogue the median purity is 77%, against 73% for 1,482 flavoured ones. The bigger difference is between concentrate and isolate, not between flavoured and unflavoured.
The Picks
1. MB Fuel One Whey Protein OP — Cheapest per Gram of Protein
₹208 per 100g of protein and ₹50 a serving — the lowest on this list by some distance. You get 24g of protein from a 33g scoop (73%), which is a solid concentrate.
2. Nakpro Perform Whey Protein Concentrate — Best Budget Pick With More Reviews
3. MyFitFuel Hydrolyzed Whey Protein — Best Value for High Purity
87% protein per scoop (28.5g in 32.8g) at ₹266 per 100g — close to concentrate pricing for an A-tier product. Sold in 2kg tubs only, so the upfront cost is higher. Hydrolysed whey is pre-digested; here is what that does and does not mean.
4. Nakpro Whey Gold Protein Concentrate — High-Purity Concentrate
80% protein per scoop is unusually high for a concentrate.
5. Fuel One Whey Iso-Max — Purest Unflavoured Option
31g of protein in a 34g scoop — 91%, the only A+ product here — for ₹334 per 100g of protein. That is cheaper per gram than most flavoured isolates.
6. Myprotein Impact Whey (Unflavoured) — Best Imported Option
The small 30g scoop means you get 83 servings from the bag.
7. Wellbeing Nutrition Clean Whey Concentrate — Highest Rated
₹440 per 100g of protein, 72% purity.
8–10. The Big-Name Isolates
You pay more per gram of protein for them than for picks 3–5, which are purer. Note that ON Gold Standard is a blend led by isolate rather than a pure isolate.
How to Choose
- Decide how much the taste matters. Unflavoured whey tastes of milk solids. Mixed into water it is bland; into milk, coffee, oats or a banana shake it disappears. Our shake recipes all work with it.
- Compare cost per 100g of protein. Tub sizes and scoops differ — ranks 3, 4 and 6 are big packs, so they look expensive at the till and are cheap per gram. How many servings are really in 1kg explains why.
- Pick concentrate or isolate for a reason. Isolate is purer and has less lactose; concentrate is cheaper. If dairy upsets your stomach, read our lactose guide first.
- Read the ingredient list. "Raw" should mean whey and little else — sometimes a small amount of soy lecithin to help it mix. Added amino acids such as glycine or taurine near the top are a warning sign: how to spot amino spiking.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is unflavoured whey protein better than flavoured?
It is not better for building muscle — the protein is the same. It carries no sweetener or flavouring, so it is slightly purer on average (77% vs 73% median in our catalogue) and far more versatile in food. Flavoured whey is easier to drink on its own with water.
What is the cheapest unflavoured whey protein in India?
In our catalogue on 29 September 2026, MB Fuel One Whey Protein OP (Unflavoured, 1kg) at ₹1,499 — about ₹208 per 100g of protein. Nakpro Perform Whey Concentrate (Unflavoured) at ₹256 per 100g is the cheapest with a larger review base.
Can I cook with unflavoured whey protein?
Yes, in things like oats, dosa or chilla batter, curd and baking. Heat changes the texture of whey but does not destroy the protein. Stir it into warm (not boiling) liquids to avoid clumps.
