Whey isolate costs more than concentrate, so the question is not "which isolate is best" but "which isolate gives you the most protein for the rupee without cutting corners". We ranked eight widely sold isolates on exactly that: cost per 100g of protein, then protein purity per scoop.
Prices and nutrition figures were taken from our catalogue on 16 September 2026. Nutrition comes from each product's label as listed by the seller. We are a data platform, not a laboratory, and we did not test these products ourselves — here is how we handle product data. Prices move daily, so check the live price on each product page.
The Ranking
| # | Product | Pack | Price | Protein / scoop | Purity | Cost / serving | Cost / 100g protein |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Bigmuscles Nutrition Gold Whey Isolate | 1 kg | ₹2,399 | 27g of 35g | 77% | ₹83 | ₹306 |
| 2 | Nakpro Platinum Whey Protein Isolate | 1 kg | ₹3,499 | 28g of 36g | 78% | ₹121 | ₹431 |
| 3 | MyFitFuel MFF Whey Protein 90 Isolate | 1 kg | ₹3,743 | 28.3g of 34.5g | 82% | ₹125 | ₹441 |
| 4 | FuelOne Whey Iso-Max | 1 kg | ₹3,899 | 28g of 36g | 78% | ₹139 | ₹497 |
| 5 | TrueBasics Clean Whey Protein Isolate | 1 kg | ₹4,499 | 30g of 38g | 79% | ₹155 | ₹517 |
| 6 | MuscleBlaze Biozyme Iso-Zero | 1 kg | ₹4,799 | 27g of 35.3g | 76% | ₹150 | ₹555 |
| 7 | The Whole Truth Whey Protein Isolate (Unflavoured) | 1 kg | ₹4,999 | 30g of 38g | 79% | ₹179 | ₹595 |
| 8 | Dymatize ISO100 | 2.3 kg | ₹16,999 | 25g of 30g | 83% | ₹224 | ₹895 |
All eight land in our A tier (75–87% protein per scoop) on the purity tier scale. None reaches A+ (88% and above) — flavoured isolates rarely do, because sweetener, cocoa and flavouring take up part of every scoop.
Why cost per 100g of protein, not cost per serving? Scoop sizes differ. Dymatize's 25g scoop and TrueBasics' 30g scoop are not the same amount of protein, so "₹ per serving" flatters smaller scoops. Dividing the price by the total protein in the tub puts every product on the same footing.
The Picks
1. Bigmuscles Nutrition Gold Whey Isolate — Best Value
At ₹306 per 100g of protein, this is the cheapest isolate on the list by a wide margin — about 30% less than the next one. You get 27g of protein in a 35g scoop (77%).
One thing to read correctly: the "90%" on the pack describes the isolate ingredient (WPI 90). A flavoured scoop works out to 77% protein by weight, which is what the table shows.
2. Nakpro Platinum Whey Protein Isolate — Best Value From a Widely Reviewed Brand
If you want a low price but would rather buy something thousands of people have already used, start here.
3. MyFitFuel MFF Whey Protein 90 Isolate — Highest Purity Under ₹4,000
82% protein per scoop (28.3g in 34.5g) — the purest product here apart from Dymatize, at half Dymatize's cost per gram of protein. ₹441 per 100g.
4. FuelOne Whey Iso-Max — A Solid Middle Option
₹497 per 100g of protein with 28g in a 36g scoop (78%).
5. TrueBasics Clean Whey Protein Isolate — Biggest Scoop
30g of protein per 38g scoop (79%), the joint-highest protein per serving here. ₹517 per 100g. Useful if you want to hit your protein target in fewer shakes.
6. MuscleBlaze Biozyme Iso-Zero — Most Popular Name
You pay for it: ₹555 per 100g of protein, and at 76% it is the lowest purity of the eight.
7. The Whole Truth Whey Protein Isolate (Unflavoured) — Best Unflavoured
₹595 per 100g. Unflavoured whey is the easiest to mix into oats, curd or smoothies.
8. Dymatize ISO100 — Highest Purity, Premium Price
It is also the most expensive per gram by far — ₹895 per 100g, nearly three times our top pick. Buy it if you specifically want an imported hydrolysed isolate; for most people a few extra percentage points of purity are not worth the price.
How to Choose
- Set your budget per 100g of protein, not per tub. Anything under ₹450 per 100g is good value for an isolate in India today.
- Check purity per scoop. For a flavoured isolate, 75–85% is normal. Much lower than 75% and you are paying isolate prices for concentrate-level protein. See isolate vs concentrate.
- Buy "Isolate", not "Isolate + Concentrate". Blends are often named to look like isolates. We left them out of this ranking; compare them against concentrates instead.
- Read the ingredient list. Added amino acids like glycine or taurine near the top can inflate the protein number — here's how to spot amino spiking.
- Check the FSSAI licence number on the pack before you buy.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is whey isolate worth the extra cost over concentrate?
If you are lactose sensitive or tracking carbs and fat closely, often yes. Otherwise a good concentrate is usually cheaper per gram of protein. For comparison, our top isolate costs ₹306 per 100g of protein — see our cheapest protein per gram list.
Which whey isolate is best for lactose intolerance?
Isolates are filtered further than concentrates, so they usually contain much less lactose — but "less" is not "none". Unflavoured isolates with short ingredient lists are the safest start. Our lactose intolerance guide covers what to look for.
What is the difference between isolate and hydrolysed whey?
Hydrolysed whey is partly pre-digested, which can make it absorb faster. It costs more — Dymatize ISO100 is the hydrolysed option here. For most training goals, the difference in results is small. More in what is hydrolysed whey.
How much protein per scoop should an isolate have?
Around 25–30g per scoop, at 75% purity or better.
How did you rank these?
By cost per 100g of protein, calculated as price ÷ (servings × protein per serving), using label figures from our catalogue. We only included pure isolates (not blends) that were in stock, had consistent nutrition data (servings × scoop size matching the pack weight), and had a meaningful number of buyer ratings. No brand paid for placement. Our full method for isolates is in how we rank whey isolates.
